Today we will begin our last and final unit, Search for Tomorrow.
To begin class we will discuss what they think "Search for Tomorrow" means.
After a couple minutes I will introduce the essential questions for the unit that will help the students understand what "Search for Tomorrow" means.
Then the students will participate in a Chalk Talk.
Independently students will walk around the room and independently respond to questions on a sheet of notebook paper to be turned in.
After everyone has had a chance to answer all of the questions, the student will come get together in groups of 4 or 5 and discuss how they answered the questions.
We will come together as a class and discuss a few of the questions.
After all the discussions the students have taken part in, they will be given one final questions to answer on their sheet of notebook paper and then turn in to the turn in bin. The question written on the board is:
How does media impact the way in which ideas are clarified, perceived, or understood?
Keeping this question and their answer in mind the students will watch the following video clip (body_image_dove_evolution.3gp). As a class we will talk about how media impacts the way we view different things.
Once the students have turned in their notebook paper they will independently work on their EQ handout they received when they walked into class.
If students do not complete the handout in class they will need to finish it for homework.
