To begin class the students will be given 20 minutes to read the novel. Students can use this time to read and/or work on packet #2 due Friday.
Then, we will turn our attention to a plot diagram.
Plot diagram's help students map out the story
While we continue to read the students should fill in the plot diagram.
As a class we discussed what each aspect of the plot diagram was and what should go in each.
Independently, the students began to fill out the plot diagram chart with the introduction (setting, characters, conflict, and time period) and rising action (the events that lead up the the Climax).
Homework:
Read chapters 6-12 by Friday
Continue to fill out the plot diagram as you read
Work on packet #2 due Friday
May 22nd:
Today we will begin class by looking into Dystopia's and Utopia's one more time.
Students will work with a partner to follow the following prezi.
While watching the prezi the students should fill out the guided notes they picked up on the front table.
After taking notes the students will apply what they have learned this unit and in the Prezi and they will complete the Eye of the Beholder handout in class.
Students will be watching a Twilight Zone episode and filling out the Eye of the Beholder handout with a partner.
