Today the students will begin class by comparing the article they read Thursday with the article they read over the weekend for homework.
Students would have filled out the venn diagram and created a 1-2 paragraph response.
As a class we discussed the students comparisons and then the students turned in the venn diagram handout.
With these two articles the students were able to see the way in which information is provided to the public and how that could possibly be damaging and could inspire dystopian literature and societies.
Continuing with this concept the students read and CUREd Genetically Modified Salmon.
On the back of the article students had two activities to complete based off the reading.
If students do not complete in class they will need to complete the assignment for homework.
On Friday the students will take a mid unit assessment with an article focused on 3D printing. To prepare the students will answer the questions and watch the given video.
We then moved our focus to the article we read yesterday in addition to the "Food" article the students picked up today.
After read both articles the students were given a mini project:
You are going to create an advertisement, brochure, or public service announcement, that focuses on a key issue from one of these articles. Your final product should include textual evidence and contain elements of argument, persuasion, and propaganda.
